Aptitude Media Inc. operates Savings Roll (savingsroll.com). This policy explains the personal information involved in browsing this website, receiving its email publications, communicating with us and using its privacy-request routes. Contact us at [email protected].
Information collected and its sources
- Subscriptions and communications. Our newsletter forms ask for an email address and submit it to Mailchimp. If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, message and any information you choose to include. A privacy request may include the website, state, request type and contact details needed to handle the request.
- Website and network activity. Your browser sends technical information when requesting a page or resource. This can include an IP address, requested page or resource, browser/device information, request time and a referring page where the browser supplies it. Website search terms are sent to the site in a search request. Cookies and similar technologies can associate visits, preferences or advertising interactions with a browser or device. These identifiers and activity records can be personal information even when they do not include a name.
- Advertising and affiliate interactions. The website displays advertisements and affiliate links. Loading an external creative or following a link can provide the receiving service with request information and campaign or referral identifiers. If you choose to provide information on a partner’s destination, that service receives what you submit.
How information is used
Information is used to serve and maintain the website; deliver requested email publications; respond to messages and privacy requests; remember relevant choices; understand readership and website performance; present advertisements and measure referrals; detect spam, misuse and technical problems; and address applicable legal obligations, disputes and protection of rights. The information needed for a particular interaction depends on that interaction. A newsletter subscription and a privacy request are separate activities.
Website services, cookies and advertising
The site uses WordPress and hosting/content-delivery services to deliver pages and assets. Cloudflare services, including Web Analytics, are loaded on the site. These services receive network and browser information to deliver, secure and measure requests. The site uses Advanced Ads to place advertisements.
Newsletter forms send email addresses directly to Mailchimp (Intuit) for newsletter subscription and delivery. Subscribe only if you want those emails. To stop marketing emails, use the unsubscribe facility provided in an email or contact the privacy address; an advertising opt-out and a newsletter unsubscribe are separate requests.
Advertisements, affiliate links and embedded resources involve external providers, including referral links through apttrk.com. When your browser loads a provider’s resource or follows a referral link, that provider receives request information, such as an IP address, the requested URL and browser details. Cookies, pixels, links and comparable technologies can associate visits or advertising interactions with an online identifier. This information can be personal information even without a name or email address.
How information is disclosed
Information is disclosed to the service providers needed to host, deliver, protect, measure and maintain the website; newsletter and email-delivery services; and advertising, affiliate or content providers involved in the resources and links you use. The categories involved can include contact/subscription information for email services, communications for message handling, and online identifiers and activity information for website and advertising services. We may also disclose relevant information when required by law, to protect rights and security, resolve disputes, or in connection with a business transfer.
Advertising and partner disclosures can be treated as a sale, sharing or targeted advertising under laws whose definitions extend beyond payment for a named customer list. You can direct an applicable opt-out request to us using the choices below.
Outside the website integrations described in this policy, we do not sell, rent or provide visitor contact or subscriber lists to agencies or advertisers, or create or share audiences based on health-related information.
Privacy choices and opt-out requests
You or your authorized agent can submit a request through our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page or email [email protected]. The page explains our manual email request route. Send the email to submit a request; opening the page or selecting the email link does not itself change cookies, disable scripts or stop advertisements. You do not need a website account. California sale/sharing opt-outs do not require identity verification.
You can also use your browser’s cookie and tracking settings. Blocking cookies can affect features and does not necessarily stop every type of collection. We have not implemented a site-wide response to the browser’s legacy Do Not Track signal. Third-party services may respond independently. Advertising and other embedded providers can collect information about visits over time and across websites. Our email request page does not automatically disable tracking scripts or implement a site-wide Global Privacy Control response. Use the request route above to send a request to us.
How long information is kept
Records of correspondence, newsletter subscriptions, privacy requests and website operations can remain in the systems used to handle those activities after the original interaction. This can include website records, email systems and service-provider records; copies can also remain in backups where they are made. Deleting browser cookies or unsubscribing from messages does not itself delete those records. To ask about information associated with you or request deletion under applicable law, email [email protected].
Children and sensitive information
Please do not submit passwords, government identification numbers, payment-account details, medical records, diagnoses or other sensitive information through subscriptions or general messages. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information can contact [email protected] and identify the relevant website and request without including additional sensitive details.
External websites
Following an advertisement, affiliate link, social-media link or other external link takes you to a service with its own collection practices and privacy terms. Information you provide directly to that service is subject to those practices. Review the destination’s notice and choices before submitting information.
Changes and contact
We will post changes to this policy here and update the date above. This policy describes privacy practices; reading or using the website is not, by itself, consent to unrelated processing or a waiver of your privacy rights. Where a law requires a separate choice or consent, a general privacy-policy statement does not replace it.
For questions, privacy requests, representative requests or appeals, contact [email protected]. Include this website’s name, your state of residence and the type of request. Do not include passwords, identity documents, financial-account information or health details in your initial message.
State privacy rights
This section describes rights that may apply under California, Nevada, Washington, Virginia, and Maryland law. Your rights depend on your residence, the information and processing involved, whether the relevant law applies to our business, and legal exceptions.
California
Where the California Consumer Privacy Act applies, California residents may request to know and access personal information, including information about its collection, use, disclosure, sale, and sharing; request deletion; correct inaccurate information; opt out of sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising; and limit certain uses or disclosures of sensitive personal information. The law also protects against discrimination for exercising applicable rights.
You can email the privacy address above to submit an applicable request, including a sale/sharing opt-out or sensitive-information limitation request. California sale/sharing opt-out requests are not subject to identity verification. Other requests may require verification as permitted by law.
Virginia
Where Virginia’s Consumer Data Protection Act applies, eligible consumers may confirm whether their personal data is processed, access it, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, and obtain a portable copy of personal data they previously provided when processing is automated. They may opt out of targeted advertising, sales of personal data, and profiling used for decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. They may also appeal a refusal to act on a request.
Maryland
Where Maryland’s Online Data Privacy Act applies, eligible consumers may confirm processing, access their personal data, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, and obtain a portable copy when processing is automated. They may obtain categories of third parties to which personal data has been disclosed and opt out of targeted advertising, sales, and profiling for solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. They may also appeal a refusal and revoke consent where processing relies on consent covered by that law.
Nevada online privacy
Where Nevada’s online privacy law applies, consumers may submit a verified request directing an operator not to sell covered information it has collected or will collect about them. Send a Nevada sale opt-out request to the privacy email above. Nevada’s definitions and exceptions differ from those in other states.
Washington and Nevada consumer health privacy
Where Washington’s consumer health privacy law applies, consumers may confirm and access covered health data, obtain recipient information, withdraw consent, request deletion, and appeal a refusal. Where Nevada’s consumer health privacy law applies, consumers may request confirmation of collection, sharing or sale, a recipient list, cessation of collection/sharing/sale, deletion, and appeal. Send questions or requests to the same privacy email without medical records, diagnoses, treatment details, or other health information.
Requests, representatives, and appeals
Email [email protected] and identify the website, your state of residence, and the type of request. A website account is not required to send an email request. Where law permits a representative or authorized agent to act for you, they may use this address and identify their representative capacity. Verification of identity or authority may be needed where permitted by law.
To appeal a decision, email the same address, identify the earlier request, and briefly explain what you want reviewed. Suggested subjects are “Privacy request” or “Privacy appeal”; these exact words are not required.
Do not send passwords, government identifiers, financial account details, identity documents, or health details with your initial request.
